Located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, New Braunfels is known for its rich German heritage and small town charm.  It is a popular tourist destination because of its location and the many activities it has to offer.  The downtown area offers antique shops, museums, small coffee shops and upscale restaurants, wine bars, and is pedestrian friendly.  The Comal River and Guadalupe River run through New Braunfels making it an excellent location for water recreation.  The Guadalupe River has several river outfitters which provide rafting, tubing, canoing, and guided float trips.
