LAKE MCQUEENEY, LAKE PLACID, AND LAKE DUNLAP

Lake McQueeney, Lake Placid, and Lake Dunlap are on the Guadalupe River and are popular for water skiing, jet skiing, wakeboarding, boating, swimming, bird watching, and fishing. The predominant fish species is largemouth bass, spotted bass, white crappie, blue and channel catfish, and sunfish. They are all residential lakes surrounded by everything from small lake cabins to upscale waterfront homes.
Lake McQueeney is referred to as the Water Ski Capital of Texas. It is known for its 4th of July afternoon boat parade and evening fireworks display. Lake McQueeney is located 4 miles west of Seguin and 30 miles northeast of San Antonio. Its surface area is 396 acres and the shoreline is 25 miles. Lake Placid is located one mile southwest of Seguin. Its surface area is 198 acres and the shoreline is 15 miles. Lake Dunlap is located near New Braunfels. Its surface area is 410 acres and its shoreline is 20 miles.
